Disney Rub-Ons

Oh what to do with all those rub-ons & stickers???

I took a plain black photo mat and used mostly rub-ons and a few stickers to jazz it up.  This is a great way to personalize all those photos that hang in your home without spending a lot of money.  All of the rub-ons & stickers were in my stash.  I have one hallway in my house that has only Disney photographs and this goes perfectly in that hallway! (This is not one of my best pics as it is too small so be sure to click on it to see it larger)

I have linked this to the All About Disney Challenge over at Getting Cricky. If you get a chance head on over there and check out all the amazing Disney themed crafts.  I hope you are all having a great day!

This is also linked up over at Freedom Friday Blog Hop #4 .  If you want to see some cool stuff head on over there.

Magical Memories

Over 20 years ago today I unexpectedly lost my dad.  Since today is a special day I thought that I would post a tribute to the man I miss every day, my dad.

When I was growing up a trip to Disneyland meant ROAD TRIP, homemade sugar cookies shaped like Mickey Mouse (of course) to eat in the car and a lot of FUN once we arrived at the Happiest Place On Earth.  As I have said before, record breaking attendance in July heat could not stop us from having a good time.  My parents loved being at Disneyland and I still do!  Every time I go I feel like a piece of my dad is right there with me.  He is one of the reasons I love everything Disney!

My Dad at Disneyland with his favorite character, Prince John, from Robin Hood.
Thanks for stopping by and strolling down memory lane with me. Have a Magical Disney- kind of day!!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!!

To make this card I used the Cricut cartridge Independence Day (cut at 2 1/2 inches).  The twine is from Martha Stewart and the image of the sweet children is a rubber stamp from Big Lots. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day!  We are getting ready to fire up the grill. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You Bags

This is my daughters last year at her Elementary school.  She has been there since kindergarten and soon will be promoted to Junior High (sigh!).  I will miss the staff.  I will especially miss those who I have known since that first day of Kindergarten.  Those special people not only have helped my daughter grow and learn but have also taught me a few things.  To show my appreciation I have made these wonderful ladies goodie bags.  Due to the Arizona heat and the effect it has on chocolate I decided to put taffy, tootsie rolls, etc in my bags.  For some I also enclosed a gift card.  I love how they turned out.  Simple yet sweet!!

For the "Thanks" I used the Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy.  I LOVE this cartridge.  I cut the die with my Cricut and then used the coordinating stamp (Both from Close To My Heart).

I also made "Fun In The Sun" tags.  I used one of these tags to write a personal note on and enclosed it in the goodie bag.  These were made from the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Though somewhat sad to see the elementary years come to a close I am ready for my daughter to start the next chapter.  We will start that chapter with a fun filled summer! I hope that everyone is having a great day! See you back here real soon.

Hey, Howdy, Hey

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by.  This is a card that I made using the Cricut Cartridge Toy Story.  I cut Jessie at five inches.  I find that when using any of the Disney Cricut cartridges the images are easier to work with if they are cut at least four to five inches.  If cut any smaller the eyes, mouth, etc are too small to work with.  I stitched around her hat using embroidery thread.  I used Liquid Pearls on her collar. The sentiment is a rubber stamp by The Rubbernecker Stamp Co. The ribbon and cardstock are from my stash. I am entering Jessie in the "face" challenge over at Krafty Girls.   I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day!!

Seconds Anyone????

Whenever I make a card using the Cricut I try to make two cards from the same cut. This is the second card I made when using the Sweet Treats cartridge for the Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge this week. I used the same card stock for my ice cream cone and changed it up with the background colors, gems, ribbon & sentiment.  I used the Cuttlebug for the background paper and distressed it a little bit. I also used the Cuttlebug for the scoops of ice cream and then used Stickles over the embossed swirls.  The sentiment is a rubber stamp from Hampton Art. (It says Living The Sweet Life).  I hope that everyone is having a "sweet" day!

This card is part of the May 16, 2012 link party fun over at Printabelle.  Head on over there and check it out!

This card is also part of the June 2, 2012  G'Day Saturday Linky Party over at Natasha In OZ.  Be sure to check out her blog.

Ice Cream Anyone??

Hello Everyone!  I made this card specifically for the challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2.  The challenge was to create any project or card using the ice cream cone cut from any Cricut Cartridge.  I used the cartridge Sweet Treats.  I cut my ice cream cone at 6 inches. I used the Cuttlebug, Diamond Glaze and gems on my scoops of ice cream.  The sentiment is a rubber stamp from Darcie's.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fun With Paper Dolls

Each month I meet with a wonderful group of ladies to stamp and share ideas with. We call ourselves Frayed Knots.  We all take turns teaching a class throughout the year. April was my month to teach.  Well instead of teaching something new I thought it would be fun for all of us to make a paper doll.  I cut each doll at 8 inches using the Cricut cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up. I also cut out outfits & hair styles for each doll. I provided embellishments and turned the group loose to create their doll.  As you can tell by the photos they all turned out too cute!  Each doll is so unique! These dolls were made for a special member of our group who is experiencing some health issues.  I thought it would be nice to link all the dolls together to form a banner and give them to our friend. This way she can hang up the dolls in her room while she is recovering from recent surgery and feel like we are all with her (we all wrote her a get well note on the back of the doll we made). Hopefully these dolls will bring a smile to her each time she looks at them.

Oh Baby!

Someone I know recently had a baby girl and this is the card that I made for her. I cut the card itself at 5 inches using the Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy.  The shoes are from the Cricut cartridge Kate's ABC's.  I used Stickles on the shoes and flowers.  The ribbon & pearls are from my stash.  This was the first time that I used these cartridges. Super fun ones!!
